“I have been involved from the start with DRIVE and the Digital Research Environment team, and heavily involved in enabling health professionals of all disciplines to get the benefit of electronic health data. Whilst doing that, and pursuing my own research aims, it has become obvious that there are many examples of where advanced analytics could drive our understanding of disease processes and allow us to create new treatment regimes. Being an innovation officer means that I can help both my colleagues in the hospital, and the children that they are trying to treat, by bringing new ideas from theory into reality.”
